Diana Sanchez, VNY Public & Community Relations Director, was honored in March at the California State Capitol as a 2018 Woman of the Year by Senator Robert M. Hertzberg of Senate District 18. Honorees are nominated by state senators and are recognized as women who have significantly contributed to the district.

For over 25 years, Diana has worked in the public relations, marketing and community relations field and is an esteemed resident of the San Fernando Valley. In addition to her activities on behalf of Van Nuys Airport, Diana is an active community member, participating in neighborhood clean-ups and fundraisers for organizations like the National Kidney Foundation.

She has received several personal recognitions including the 2016 Pillar of the Community Award for the Mid-Valley YMCA and the 2011 Champion of Education Award from TVEA. She served as past Chairwoman of the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce; President for the Encino Chamber of Commerce; board member of the Valley Presbyterian Hospital and The Valley Family Center; and Vice-Chair for the Mid-Valley YMCA.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes include hiking, playing soccer, traveling, and projects around the house.
