Van Nuys Airport’s Lowell “Bud” Carson, Superintendent of Airport Operations, was recently awarded the Airport Training & Safety Institute’s (ATSI) Level 1 Digicast Certificate for completing at least 50 test units from combined ATSI category exams.
The ATSI was founded in 1996 by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) as a training system that allows users to log their Digicast training programming for credit toward certificates of achievement in multiple areas of training. After a certain number of credits are earned, a certificate is awarded. Each Digicast program falls into one or more categories of training, including administration, operations and security, among others.
“We commend him for his continuing effort and dedication to this training program, and his ongoing commitment to the airport community,” said Flora Margheritis, Van Nuys Airport Manager. In 2017, Carson had taken approximately 52 of these Digicast training sessions, participating in 4-17 each month. Currently, he is the only VNY personnel to have achieved this award.
The ATSI training modules are available to all employees whose airport is subscribed to the ANTN Digicast. For more information on the ATSI modules available to eligible employees, visit www.antndigicast.com.
